Nothing wrong with your eyes mate. I showed Brian the photo and said there's debate as to whether or not it's him. His reply was typically classic Brian...
"Not with those shoes it's not!"
    I fookin' love that guy.

Wow, really? Guy could be a real good body double for Brian though XD

Was he joking, because I could swear it's him XD

Can't make out if Phil has a hat on. Was wondering if this was the same gig that Bon wore the cowboy hat for, and it was a whole band thing.

Zoom on Angus too, looks like a military hat?

Probably Rob Halfords looking at JP photo's from the time.

Doesn't look like Angus at all, so weird!

Weird - I zoomed in and i'm pretty sure it's not him, also looks too tall.

There were quite a few photos of Angus in action in the earlier days that didn't look like him.
Angus & Bon have both got their knees bent there, I'd put a lot of money on that being him.
  11.
It looks like Angus to me.
  12.
Bon is bending at the knees quite a bit.

But I also said this when people were talking about how he looked "puffy" in PU interviews; people can look very different depending on the day, the expression they're making and the angle of a picture. It's like how Bon's voice can sound quite different at certain gigs, or even just certain lines. The vocal cords and the face of a person are parts of a living organism, with the cells that make it up constantly shedding and replicating (cue the Ship of Theseus). Unlike a guitar, which for the most part stays exactly the same and can reproduce the exact same tonality over and over.

OR maybe they just used a counterfeit Angus to match the counterfeit SG they cut in half for this gag...

An alternate photo versus the one used for the Highway to Hell cover, and compared to the actual cover to show the amount of re-touching, especially the creepiness of Angus and Malcolm's eyes.
I kind of wish that Phil's expression in the alternate had been the same on the actual cover.

  13.
I like stoned Cliff in the alternate but Phil just looks creepy. I always thought Mal looked nothing like himself on the HTH cover; he looks like an ogre. Another example of how different people can look from one photo to the next.

And to think that they filled 2 album covers with this same photo session from december 1977. Talking about low profile..

When I hear the term "album cover", I tend to think that it means the picture on the front.

They adjusted the colors a bit. They also made the shirt grey-ish on the HTH cover and green-ish on the PA front cover. The blue blazer is made black-ish on the PA front cover. The tie is the same on every photo.

Both the Powerage and the HTH cover are from the same photo session as is the back cover of Powerage. Both the covers have been heavily retouched and airbrushed so the colors might seem a bit different.

"The Australian hard rock group AC/DC was about to break big in America, and they needed a rear cover
for their new album "Highway to Hell." The front cover was also done by our studio, but over a year earlier for the group's "Powerage" album.
In the end, a different choice was used for that record and the December 1977 photo with the devil's horns
put on the front cover of "Highway To Hell."

It was late Spring 1979 at our photo studio in New York City. By now, my partner Jim Houghton and his assistant were doing all of the photography
and I mostly took care of business matters.
One of our best clients was Atlantic Records, for whom we've done dozens of album covers over the years.
This time their head art director, Bob Defrin, had a hot new assignment for us.

The 1979 rear cover involved advance planning and arrangements.
This was to be shot at night on a dark highway with the smoky fires of Hell behind them.
Where to find an abandoned highway close to Manhattan? Why, Staten Island, of course.
The Mayor's Office for Film Production helped on this by arranging for us to use
a closed section of road that was under construction.

That night we all boarded a rental location van and headed for Brooklyn,
then across the Verrazano Narrows Bridge to the unfinished West Shore Expressway.
The band members were all excited about seeing the famous sights along the way.

Our Balcar strobe lights and the rented smoke machines were powered by our Honda location generator.
Jim used various cameras; the final shot was probably from a Nikon F2 loaded with Tri-X B&W film,
although the picture could be a bit deceptive and may actually be a color conversion
made to look like a full-frame B&W print.
Looking back, I think that we should have used more lights behind the smoke."
