    WHIPLASH!!
  4.
Metallica has the type of fanbase where this will actually turn out fucking awesome. AC/DC...I'm not sure. Wish they'd come back to the US sometime so I could see them.
  5.
Say what you want about Metallica but this is fuckin' awesome.

A good idea but it won`t happend with AC/DC. Sorry to say it but they are too narrow minded.

I just hope to see them in concert again. I won`t complain about the set list. They can play whatever songs they like.
But please, one more album and tour.

Sounds like an abusive spouse trying to win back their ex. :)

the reality is if you leave it to the fans (not just people on here) we would have ended up with a similar setlist that we got on the BI tour

90% of the people who bought tickets to the Black Ice Tour were probably satisfied with the set list.

They play what the average concert goer like and not what a few hardcore fans like to hear.
  8.
believe it or not, not every long time fan was pissed off with the band on the BI tour
  9.
^ too true. I know people who love the band every bit as much as we all do and they didnt utter one word of complaint. Those shows were everything they wanted them to be

If you have a look around the internet at various polls you might be surprised at what shows up after the top ten most obvious e.g.

    wow.................

Honestly, I enjoyed every bit of my show too and didn't have one complaint and I still don't. I wish I would've been a tad older and had known more about the band like I do now. So I'm more angry at myself rather than the band lol. Plus I would've liked better seats but I didn't buy the tix, my dad did. Next time, if there is a next time, it will be different. If I ever see the band again, sure my fingers will be crossed for just one song that wasn't played on the BI tour but if it is exactly the same I wouldn't care.
  11.
Actually looking through all that list maybe fans shouldnt choose ha, War Machine is 23 and gimme a bullet 81, ffs!

On the other hand you would get from the top 20

    LWTTT
    R'n'RANP
    Moneytalks
    Jailbreak
    If You Want Blood
    SUL
    High Voltage

And that would liven up the setlist!

I missed out Big Balls. Because I am not a cunt.
  12.
    Quite right on Big Balls!

Actually yeah spot on those sound choices, doubt LWTTT would ever get an airing with Brian. Thought HV was a highlight to the tour on Bi even w/o breakdown, DED was cool too. What I would not give to hear IYWB-they tore it up in 03.

Fair comment - so let's see what the Metallica fans (which I'm sure includes some folk on here), come up with. Who thinks it will be a greatest hits set ala AC/DC? And who thinks the set lists will be identical every night of these tour dates?
  13.
My metallica set will definitely not include Enter Sandman......

I can think of maybe 3 songs post AJFA that I might pick. Enter Sandman isn't one of them.

    Whiplash
    For Whom The Bell Tolls
    Fade To Black
    Creeping Death
    Master Of Puppets
    Sanitarium
    Disposable Heroes
    Leper Messiah
    Damage Inc.
    Blackened
    And Justice For All
    Eye Of The Beholder
    Harvester Of Sorrow
    Seek And Destroy
    Sad But True
    The Unforgiven

    Is probably it. Ish
  14.
Sad But True would definitely be on mine...Probably would be the only one from that album. Fuel would also be the other post- AJFA song.

I like early Metallica, but I'm a huge fan of Megadeth. I heard that they'll play the Youthanasia album next year, so I'm gonna definitely be there.
  15.
LOVE Early Metallica. Listening to In Justice For All blasting...What an experience, too bad there is no bass in the mix lol. Ride The Lightning is also up there. I was never a big thrash metal either but as Jem, said I have a soft spot for Metallica.

AJFA is I think my favourite Metallica album, despite the awful mix. I was lucky to catch them on their first few trips to the UK and they were a phenomenal live band. After the 'Black' album they lost something for me and when I saw them again in the mid nineties it was a completely different scene. Very tempted to go and see them again now though.
  16.
Kill'Em All is probably the best album Metallica ever put out. Nothing else lives up to it for me.

Thrash does nowt for me as well, but I think Metallica at their best rose way above the genre.
    Justice is a great album.
  17.
The bass player in me wants to hate AJFA, but the metalhead in me thinks its their best album. Dyer's Eve. Seriously.

Rust in Peace is a thrash masterpiece. Imo not even Metallica in their glory days were capable of delivering something quite like it.

Megadeth never did anything for me. Dave's voice was too whiny and I didn't even enjoy his guitar playing.
