I've been an AC/DC fan for about 3 years, and while I know quite a lot about them, this has always confused me.

Yesterday I picked up a copy of High Voltage on CD and it said that the record label was Columbia. I then remembered that my HTH was released on Sony Music and that most of the others (BIB, Live being two examples) being released on Epic. Did the following labels release the entire back catalogue on their respective labels, or was the whole collection released across the different labels? None of mine came with the gold sticker on the front, if that helps.

CBS was acquired by Sony in 1987/88.
CBS, which included Columbia Records, was renamed to Sony Music Entertainment in 1991.
AC/DC signed with Epic in late 2002 and in 2003-2004 issued a remasters series on the Epic label. They left behind Elektra, the label owned by Warner Music Group.
BMG (who originally owned the Columbia trademark and also Epic) merged with Sony around the same time to create Sony/BMG.
Columbia and Epic are therefore subsidiary labels owned by Sony, along with RCA records.
AC/DC, as far I know, is still signed to the Epic label, however because it's all Sony, they are often referred to as being signed to Columbia and Sony also.

So, when the CDs you have were pressed, will determine what label its pressed under. Keep in mind that the 2003-2004 remasters originally released under the Epic label, will now probably have Sony/BMG somewhere on them as further copies have been pressed since and will reflect whatever internal structures Sony have in place at the time.

Black Ice was a Columbia release.

Do you have a picture of that High Voltage CD with the Columbia label? If so, can you post the picture? Was it a digipak release?

Same with the HTH - got a pic and is it a digipak release?

This. All my 2003 remasters are on the Epic label. Then BB, SUL and BI are on the Columbia label. Bought them when they came out. But I have noticed lately at Walmart and Best Buy some of the older releases only have the Sony/BMG label now. Surprising... Sony can take the time to change the label on a bunch of CDs but can't give us more Hi Def releases...
