Posted By: thevardinatorI agree with what someone said above maybe a VH1 type performance, where they can touch it up and make it sound cleaner.
no touch-ups, please. Just make them comfortable enough. And give 'em a good sound. That'll do the trick.
  1.
I thought Justin sounded bad, too, but considering he was at a concert for his dead brother I'm willing to cut him some fucking slack in the criticism department, especially since Brian seemed to wave him over.
  2.
I am sure Angus already has decided for some kind of tour, and not a VH1 type of gig.
"See you in 9 months" could be as simple as Brian knows that the band have booked Wembley or doing some festival in UK in june next year.
Some big bands have already released tickets for their European stadiumshows in 2023.

I'm now watching a compilation of the show which is broadcasted on Paramount. Justin Hawkins does a decent job on Hot For Teacher tbh. Wolfgang completely kills it btw.

    Looked a bit like 2003

If he didn't look that great, it can be explained by a simple enough fact - he's 74, soon to be 75.

Well, he looked better than Bruce (in my opinion) who in this clip from Rock in Rio seemed to be, lets say politely, not the old Bruce...

(Even Eddie was a poor version of past versions frankly)

He had a cold, anyway he is in a middle of a huge tour and singing in original Key. Brian Just sang 2 songs played a whole tone lower than the original tbh. Still sounding pretty ok

Justin maybe has Not the voice to sing AC/DC ( probably the different Key was a Factor too), but he killed on Under Pressure, Absolutely incredible. He took some impressive High notes too

Likely Brian's first time singing those songs a full step down, which you could tell, he was trying to adjust to the pitch on the fly a few times. Smart to do it a full step, but when so much of singing is muscle memory, adjusting and finding the right spot can be hard.

Will I sit here and pretend it was great? No. But it's a MAJOR triumph the man is on stage right now given everything he's gone through. It wasn't his normal band. And he was having a blast.

Plus, that audience video sounded better. Sometimes raw soundboard mixes aren't flattering.

Had a smile the whole time.

Father Time is seldom kind. Let’s all remember this.
Brian and Bruce were moving mountains as younger guys.

His face looks different to what it has recently. Hence me saying 2003

He looked a bit puffy in the face and like his eyes were about to pop out then too

It wasn’t a question of him looking ‘older’

Guy probably knocked back a few before going on. Nothing to see here.

I know. Silly thing to say, that. He has an older brother that I know of. Wrote this book called A Brief History of Time. He's dead 'n' all.

Did he sound perfect? No, but he still kicked ass, and definitely good enough for a tour.
I'm thinking a tour is already in the works, stage designed, dates being confirmed and everything.
Maybe Angus wanted to wait out the busy/crowded 2022 touring year.
I still have hope. But yes, it's 2023 or bust.

You have to sign up for the Paramount+ streaming platform to watch it again. Bonkers.

It was my turn to put the baby to bed so managed to keep her up long enough to watch Beano take the stage. I loved it. A few cobwebs dusted off at the start of BIB but he was chugging along nicely by the end of LTBR. Its starting to feel like the tour will happen.

I think he was good, but don't see a tour in him. He kicked ass, but two hard songs into 20 hard songs and 50 hard shows is a push.

We have talked about his face earlier too, there has been talk of botox.

It was a fantastic event, very heartfelt, many many highlights. But still the Foo Figters music does nothing to me part for the 1st album, utter soft calculated conservative dog-shit.
  9.
Why are we talking about Brian’s face?
Hard truth: the man is almost 75 years old. If we passed him on the street minus his cap and not in his “AC/DC clothes” we’d assuredly never even recognize him. Same with most of the blokes on that stage. It will happen to us all if we’re lucky enough: we’ll at some point hardly recognize ourselves in a mirror. And some perspective: Brian was there to celebrate a man who was almost 25 years his junior and in fit/fighting shape who’s now another person Brian has outlived. The man is a triumph. Let’s let him look “weird” and struggle on some notes.
  10.
I agree livestream mix not the best.

Great to see him up there. And they don’t just turn up for an ACDC, they do an awful lot of rehearsing and I’m sure Brian could get conditioned in time to do a show. How many is another question and recovery time gets harder with age but I’m still holding hope of seeing them live in 2023

Agree, on most. But Dave definitely deserve some cred for this event. A class act. And the Foo’s seem to like good rock, even if their own music isn’t always everyones cup of tea.

It looked like Brian had a blast . It was basically what I expected. . Not great not rubbish. The backing band did not help but the night wasn’t about that anyway . Regarding the Justin Hawkins thing . It seemed to me that Brian could not wait for him to get up there for a sing along . I don’t think Justin was expecting to have to sing the second verse. I suspect Justin will only watch it back once .
Looking at this as a snapshot of what Brian can manage I would say that he is nowhere near a full ACDC gig . Then again I am on the” I don’t want them to tour again side of things anyway” They have nothing to prove. I personally don’t want to see them shuffling around a way too big stage looking like a parody of themselves. Then again I will be there if they do !

It was great to see Brian on stage again. It’s not so great reading comments from people who don’t seem to understand how ageing works.
