Foo Fighters have just released the full lineup for the two Taylor Hawkins tribute concerts and BJ is confirmed for the Wembley show.
Entire thing is being filmed and broadcast live so hopefully we'll get some decent footage. Cracking lineup for both gigs as well.

This will be a good chance to see where Brian’s voice is at! He’ll be great and will bring a good warmth to what is a sad goodbye to a great
  3.
Going be interesting what they do with this - maybe have a core Foo Fighters band then swap people in and out - lots of drummers included so i'm guessing that's the idea.
  4.
    Back In Black, I suppose.
  5.
Can’t wait to see the Brian clip and ignore the rest

I bet even the t-shirts will be beige

Foos used to cover Let There Be Rock. Seems like that would be easy on Beano should that be the route.

He might go for a real test and blast out Big Gun

ive heard Brian is going to cover The Smith,s "Big Mouth Strikes Again", in reference to Dave Grohl being an expert on every inch of music, in every music documentary that is made.

Big Mouth Strikes Again; good song!
But with 95% chance it will be BIB again.

I hope, like jonalba also mentioned, on LTBR.

    LOL

I’m not sure if I read it right but is Lars going to be playing with Brian? If so if they do any AC/DC songs it’ll be interesting to hear how Lars sounds.
  9.
As somebody who rarely listens to Metallica, I never understood the hate for Lars, but then I had to learn Hit the Lights and holy shit what a rollercoaster of tempos. Not to mention the song just sucks, too.
  10.
I think it’s more his ego than his playing re why he is disliked.

Listen to St Anger. He's the Tony McCarroll of Thrash Metal.
  11.
Say what you want about Lars but he’s got a great sound live and Phil Ruddish grooves on certain songs

God ! Dave Grohl is going to be unbearable at this gig

Not really. His bass drum and snare are decent but I don't think his toms sound that great, they sound 'dead' to me.
  13.
Lars peaked on master of puppets and justice technically speaking but found groove on the black album from his obsession with Rudd
Sure he can’t do the double bass fills like years ago and I have seen the over 30 times from 89 to 2018 and a few times he was all over the place lol where it was almost like he forgot the song he was playing but his playing style gels with Hetfield

He's going to be emotional which, to be honest, is absolutely understandable given the circumstances of the gig. If there's one time to ease off of having a go at the man, this gig'd be it.

I don’t like Foo Fighters musically but Dave one of the good guys

When Westboro Baptist Church lunatics were protesting against gay people and calling for their death he and rest of the band drove past them slowly in a pick up truck with Dave making a great speech to them

    Great guy. Deserves respect
  17.
I like a handful of Foos songs and Dave and Taylor was a top tier drummer
Sure he seems like he is always in spotlight but who gives a shit
He is a torch carrying fan of rock n roll and anyone who adores AC/DC , covers there songs and claims the LTBR movie was a life changing event is ok in my book
Plus he appears to be very down to earth
Saw something where he still dropped his kids off at school in a mini van himself
Not your typical behavior for someone worth 100 million $
  18.
And when you can be legitimate friends with a member of the Beatles and Brian Johnson who worshipped the Beatles , can’t be that much of a annoying person

No idea why they need to do this kind of celebrity get together in all honesty

Very glad the boys didn’t do it when Mal passed away

All just seems a bit show biz to me

    Yeah that was awful.

I was kind of disappointed that Bowie threw myself into it with such abandon because it was so clearly a massive shop window for lots of artists to reach a massive global audience. I read somewhere that Guns N' Roses were added to the bill because the event lacked names that would work for a North American tv audience.

Hmm, i found it a rather amusing event and liked the contribution of all kinds of acts. I didn't notice an underlying pervers motivation tbh.
You would say Metallica, Def Leppard, Extreme, Robert Plant, Roger Daltrey would be attractive enough for american audiences.

It was the last big event for the then still popular, big haired, hardrock scene. Soon to be thrown over by Grunge and Nu Metal. Woodstock 1999 anyone?
  24.
    Put another way

When the boys call it a day, if (for example) there was a star studded bash at Wembley Stadium featuring a load of famous bands all murdering AC/DC classics in honour of their ‘heroes’ (well heroes for that week anyway) I’d stay as far away as fucking possible

I’d even go as far as hunting out a Chris Slade Timeline gig the same night to hide away at

That’s how shit I think these things are. Hope it raises a shit ton for whatever charity it’s in aid of (?) but nah. They can shove it up their arse
