    Just saw an ad on TV for the Grammy Awards this Monday (Sunday US time).

    It listed some of the people that would be on there: Taylor Swift, Paul McCartney, then AC/DC.

    Anyone know what's happening? Why was Brian at the airport the other day?

    Why do the Grammy’s still even happen? No one buys albums anymore. What are they celebrating?

    They should just change it to the “Spotify: Streaming Awards!” Or the YouTube Music Awards”

    Or “The Streamies?”

    Say what you will about the Grammys, but I think it's pretty amazing that ACDC still got two nominations in 2022 for their latest effort!

    The Grammys are awards to music, not to music sales. Same with Oscars awarding movies regardles if they came out on cinemas or Netflix.

    Foo Fighters were supposed to perform, but obviously cancelled. Silk Sonic is a must watch though.

    But it’s always been a popularity contest based around sales and over-exposure. I guess overexposure alone is worthy of awards these days.

    Perhaps for the main awards, or the ones in the prime time TV broadcast. But have you ever seen the list of all the categories in the grammy awards? Some are far from popular things.

    I still can't understand your bizarre scepticism that a TV advertisement for the Grammys (Australian TV) did not mention AC/DC. It did, and there was a picture of Brian and Angus. The advertisement caught me off guard and that's why I made this post. What's so hard to accept about that? Just weird.

    I like the Foos just fine, but they haven't done anything super good in years. AC/DC should have won.

    It’s tradition. IF AC/DC had only not won for War Machine they’d have ZERO Grammys. And just how great would that be if they hadn’t won that one because a band as accomplished as AC/DC not having any would be classic. Absolutely ridiculous.

    The Grammys is a joke.

    Even the Grammy for War Machine seemed like a sympathy vote, or rather the Grammys trying to show street cred after ignoring the band for so many years.

    War Machine is a so-so song, nothing special. The Grammys celebrate mediocrity/popularity. I suppose that's why the Foo Fighters swept all their categories today.

    What I can't seem to understand is how Silk Sonic won record of the year, song of the year and best R&B song for "Leave the door open" yet fail to be even nominated for best album or even best R&B album? Headscratcher. What a good album!

    If it's the same people voting for every category, then they would have won those as well. Maybe just trying to spread the love to other bands?

    Same with Foo Fighters. If they win one category, they're going to win all their categories. The voting is flawed that way.
