Posted By: soulstripper666Maiden could say that up until around '88. After that I'm happy if their albums contain one really great song that doesn't repeat itself to death musically and lyrically.

Oh, come on. Your argument is "everyone knows my interpretation is right"? Seriously? Good grief ..........and that is your opinion which you are entitled to.
In that case, everyone knows Bruce is taking the piss...............he wasn't I was there.

Bruce is a middle class Tory toff with a stick up his arse

Have I stumbled on to a socialist worker forum by accident :-) Arguably if Bruce was growing up these days he would be metropolitan champagne socialist and Ozzy would be a tory. Topsy turvy world.

The Labour Party seem to represent the middle class city dwellers, and the current Conservatives have the backing of the old red wall. Just look at Blyth, Northumberland.
Posted By: jonnyaI met Bruce once whilst waiting for an autograph signing at Newcastle City Hall in the 80s. I can only have been about 14, and tried to chat to him about where they were playing football. I cant remember his exact reply but it was pretty condescending particularly to a youngster. Good to hear that my initial thoughts of him being a knob weren't far from the truth.Legend has it that Kevin was a role model and trigger for the Hair Metal movement.
In unrelated news, Kevin Keegan once waved to me when he was coming down the hill into Morpeth in a little sports car back in the 80s. Love that guy.
Posted By: RonBack on topic...Final Frontier is a very underated Maiden album.
Posted By: CWT1965Met him once, very up himself and self important/egotistic, didn’t like him,
Grossly overated too, Paul Di’Anno was a better singer and did better songs
Posted By: BillyBollocksFirst two Maiden albums were the best for sure.

Have you heard Dianno since leaving Maiden? IDK what happened but he can't sing to save his life anymore. He was great on the first two albums though.
Posted By: ShootToThrillI am an Iron Maiden fan but I've read some stories about him that made me think he might not be a great person. Looks like this thread confirms it.

They've certainly aged the best. And if Di'Anno hadn't fucked up, and had been the vocalist on TNOTB, I think it would have aged better in retrospect.
Posted By: Badlands66Number of the Beast shits all over the first 2 records
Posted By: DavidcelticMaidens first four albums are all classics in my opinion
Posted By: RockInPeaceIt’s one thing not to like Bruce Dickinson but saying that The Number of the Beast didn’t age well is a complete madness. Every single album Martin Birch worked on is a sonic perfection.

No
Liked at the time.
Tho few fillers on it. No?
Posted By: MeanstreakIsn't Iron Maiden about as close as you can get when it comes to a real band being similar to Spinal Tap?

The Number of the Beast is very Spinal Tapish indeed.
