The more I listen to the original mix the more I'm left wondering why the hell they thought there was anything wrong with it. The remix is a lot thinner and weaker. The original powers along with a groove which is missing from the remix.

There was nother thread earlier this week about albums needing a remix. Well this is one case where the ORIGINAL mix needs to be made available on CD!

Yeah, the original mix should be available, but it's not without its flaws. Sonically, it manages to be both muddy and brittle at the same time. Some songs really benefit from the original versions (like Kicked In The Teeth, without the obvious edit in the beginning of the international version) and it's nice to have Cold Hearted Man, but I still prefer to hear the full ending on Rock N Roll Damnation and back up vocals on Gimme A Bullet.

Некоторые песни действительно выигрывают от оригинальных версий (например, Kicked In The Teeth, без очевидного редактирования в начале международной версии), и приятно иметь Cold Hearted Man, но я все же предпочитаю слушать полную концовку на Rock N Roll Damnation. Gimme A Bullet.

I prefer the original version of What Next To The Moon. Yes, there is no solo in the original version, but it sounds much more powerful. You just need to listen once.

I'll be waiting for this version too.

What’s next to the moon sounds amazing!! The only “criticism” I have with this is that they didn’t have Rock ‘N’ Roll Damnation on the uk version

That's the way it should be! RNRD was recorded after the album and is perfect as a single but doesn't fit in with the rest of the album which wasn't even recorded at the same session.

The alternate take of Bon's opening line on KITT on the remixed version just can't be beat. I grew up on the original mix and only heard the remix many years later (so it's not even a nostalgia thing) but the way he elongates the word "lies" just absolutely nails it - for me it bumped that song from a bit of a filler tune (original mix) to one of the standout tracks on the album.
