Posted By: DustDevilJust a fantastic band. Zero bullshit
Posted By: Jet1984Fucking best opener they ever had. Attitude. Grit. Rock'n'Roll.
Fucking killer!
Posted By: DustDevilI tried.
Meh.
Posted By: DustDevilI tried.I'd give at least 2 or 3 songs another go. After that, don't worry about it. My particular favorite is Stay Clean, or maybe it's Capricorn, or maybe the title track...
Meh.
Posted By: Belford74After the Glasgow Apollo gig in 83 the band came out from backstage and sat in the stalls for half an hour chatting to everyone and signing autographs.... never forgotten how cool Lemmy was. A true gentleman.
Posted By: Alex LebanonAlways loved S/T not saying its their best by any means but I love it.
No Remorse was my entry point...absolutely cracking compilation.
Posted By: tomscotlandLemmy gave me permanent tinnitus (it’s actually really bad, no joke). And I’m not even annoyed lol.A scar of honour!
Posted By: Bedlam_in_TorontoI really dig the Fast Eddie years for the pure rock n roll. Fast Eddie was a one-demensional guitarist with riffs and all his solos sound the same to me but the band has a great rock n roll feel.
Another Perfect Day has some exceptionally melodic songs — while still retaining the Motorhead grit and spirit — and some of the best soloing ever in heavy rock. I hate the lack of bottom end and warmth in the production.
Orgasmatron is quite good too.
As Alex pointed out, No Remorse is a fantastic compilation — perhaps my all time fave.
I liked 1916 and Rock N Roll but the 90s output and onwards lost me. I felt it got much more metallic "chuggy" and less about the old time rock riffs like No Class, etc. Still good stuff, I suppose, i but a different beast.
Ironically, that's the same objection the die-hard 70s AC/DC fans level against the Johnson era (and I a huge fan of the early 80s AC/DC).
Motorhead IS heavy rock and roll. When it gets metal, it's not the same.
