I was thinking that too. Axl/DC is really a cover band rather than a tribute band.

Rocker is the best one I've seen, they're based in Orkney. Got a ballsy female vocalist and 'Angus' doesn't dress up (or strip, mercifully, I really think this should be left out of any tribute band's set). They're all shit hot folk musicians too and last time I saw them supported themselves as Whole Lotta Folkies.

The tributes I enjoy most are when the band look like they're having fun rather than trying to replicate an identical set, but I know it's a matter of personal taste.

With this in mind I'm picking up a Gretsch tomorrow so if anyone in the Glasgow area fancies putting something together get in touch!

I just noticed that Live Wire are appearing in Manchester Academy on 12th November, so promptly booked a ticket. Anyone else going???

Easy Dizzy is REALLY good, if you can get past the (occasionally) broken English:

Personally, I think Chris Slade sounds better with these guys than he does with the real thing.

Hmmm, it was 20 years ago but I guess he was. We all were a bit.

One of the better ones without a doubt:

I guess "Angus" should lose a few pounds, though.

How about Live Wire - The World’s Ultimate AC/DC Experience from the New York area? They recently brought in Francis Crouse as the singer and the dude looks just like Brian.
