The story of late AC/DC frontman Bon Scott is set to hit the big screen with the recent announcement of funding for a biopic from the Australian government agency Screen Australia.

The biopic will be directed by Eddie Martin and produced by Lizzette Atkins, who have been working on the project since 2008. The pair have previously worked together on a documentary about boxer Lionel Rose. It will be written by Sophie Edelstein, with script input from Australian screenplay writer Stephen Cleary.

Bon Scott fronted AC/DC through the mid-late 1970′s before his untimely death of acute alcohol poisoning in 1980 in London following a night of heavy drinking.
