Today marks three years since AC/DC stormed back onto the world stage for the dress rehearsal of what would become their highest ever grossing world tour.

In front of a crowd of around 3,000 people, mostly VIP-types, industry-insiders and a handful of die hard fans from around the world, AC/DC took to the stage of the Wachovia Arena in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania to rock their way through a shortened setlist. The band had reportedly commenced rehearsing at the venue several days earlier in preparation for the start of their Black Ice World Tour.

The tour, their first since 2001′s Stiff Upper Lip World Tour, kicked off at the same venue two days later and would go on to gross around $441.1 million from 168 shows – the third highest grossing concert tour of all time. The tour wound up on 28 June 2010 in Bilboa, Spain.
