With both Bon and Brian. To your ears/You were to tell someone about AC/Dc and said to check out this or that song. What would State is AC/DC's Signature song that has everything pretty much you would want in an AC/DC song.

For me, I will pick two songs for Bon/Brian.

Bon- Sin City-It just has great lyrics and the bass part. Drum hi-hat breakdown that is their signature style./Rock and Roll Singer-has that sliding down a stair rail devil may care vibe.
Brian-For those about to rock- showcases AC/DC's Military Precision rock and roll attack. /Rock n Roll Train- schoolboy lyrics on coked-up lust.

Not saying its their best songs but ....

Bon - HAABPTB. Just has that real "Groove" to it. Captures Bon's voice like he's really enjoying himself.

Brian - SAL. Has a Manic bounce to it and it shows off what kinda notes Brian could hit...
  1.
    Great question. In my opinion...

Bon: Gone Shootin’ - specifically Nashville 78 because it showcases everything AC/DC is about musically and also captures their energy live.

Brian: Shoot to Thrill - has the lot and Brians’ voice is exceptional. Occasionally when I’m in a bar I’ll put this on the jukebox and there’s not one foot in the place not tapping along to it.

STT has one of the best starts ever to any fucking song. It out of the gates in jigtime. Awesome and my favourite Brian AC/DC track. Easily

For signature sound and groove: HAABPTB studio version
For signature sound and boogie: Riff Raff studio version
For perfect sound, craftsmanship and exceptional vocals: STT
  3.
    Bon - Jailbreak
Brian - Night of the Long Knives
  4.
For Bon, it's a tough choice but What's Next To The Moon is my choice. For Brian, Shoot To Thrill or Hells Bells. I think those two songs are his best, even though I prefer his vocals on FTATR.
  5.
It's tough to find a "signature" track for both Bon and Brian, because, once you really get into their catalog, it's not hard to see that each album differs slightly in tone and style. However, if I had to chose the track that I think defines Bon, it'd either be Sin City or Rosie. For Brian, probably HADOM.
  6.
Bon Scott - Whole Lotta Rosie
Brian Johnson - Rock 'N' Roll Train

I know, right? How do you misspell Rock and Roll Dream so badly
  8.
Hand the person the Aussie T.N.T. album and FTATR and they'd get a pretty good feel for what makes AC/DC, AC/DC.

Thanks LOL made it when I was just a kid so please don't hate all too much ;) Rock on!

My reason is because that song when I first heard it it just sparked something in me i never felt from a song. It got me through serious times in my life, divorces, deaths, and just life and that song had always stuck with me. THE MAIN reason is because of the simple yet hard rockin' riff and the swing of Phil's drumming it just screams classic AC/DC!

I swear it's like they played that track so much on the BI tour that everyone here got Stockholm Syndrome for it.

    My answers:
    Bon - Down Payment Blues
    Brian - Nervous Shakedown
  12.
    Bon: Walk all Over You

    Brian: Shake Your Foundations

Train is certainly a very fine and catchy R&R song. A latter-day classic. I would certainly recommend someone listening to it if we'd talk '95-'14 era.
Together with BB, SUL, SB and PB.

Nice to see another NOTLK lover here.
  14.
I really debated on Evil Walks or Long Knives, but since the OP was asking for signature sound for someone who hasn't heard the band, I picked Long Knives. If I were honest with myself, FTATR is probably my most favorite album by the band.
  15.
    Bon- Love Song
    Brian- Anything Goes

Bon- High Voltage or Live Wire or The Jack(live).
Brian- Rock n roll ain't noise pollution or Shake Your Foundations.
Definitely a thinker ...the more I think about it the more I question my choices, but then again what hell do I know?
Side note.. HTH was the first song I heard and I was hooked for life since 1984.....now I feel old..

I'd go with albums and say Bon - Let there be Rock, Brian - Back in Black.

if I had to narrow that down, then I'll go with Go Down and Shoot to Thrill.
  17.
Beating around the bush - wild and raw
Back In Black - powerful and energized

I'm going for the live/raw vs polished approach:

    Bon (live/raw) - Sin City
Bon (polished) - Touch Too Much

Brian (live/raw) - Guns For Hire
Brian (Polished) - Inject The Venom
  18.
    Bon - Highway to Hell

    Brian - Shoot to Thrill

    Sorry, to be so obvious.
  19.

    Brian- Anything Goes

I read Anything Goes first, and I thought WTF Nitro? Then I saw Love Song. Carry on.
  20.
One song from both eras. How about just one song that I think both Bon and Brian nailed.

    HAABPTB.

I will most likley make a new post about this. I find that AC/DC work best at a fast tempo. Like Black Sabbath sound better slower.

Agree. Also obvious for good reasons, transcended rock genre.
