Agree, dexy's are really good. "Don't stand me down" and "searching for the young soul rebels" are also good albums.

Again, how are PSB a guilty pleasure - they are absolutely the best at what they do - brilliant synth anthems, cutting and witty lyrics.
Surely the idea that AC/DC fans are a bunch of denim-clad morons terrified of dance music, hip-hop or anything outside of the hard rock genre is out-of-date now?

country music is cool these days - magazines like Mojo and Uncut that would've scorned it years ago, now love it - or alt-Country anyway. Country was a bit of red line for me, too, although over the past few years I've heard the odd thing that makes me reconsider:

Nothing wrong with Lenny Kravitz and Groove Armada...

As for Goldfrapp, I saw them live at Brixton Academy about 10 years ago, and it was one of the most amazing gigs I've ever been to in my entire live. Totally gripping, theatrical, surreal, yet still with the music being the main focus. Absolutely stunning gig in a superb venue. Plus, we were located right behind one of the production / mixing desks with a bar immediately behind us, which back then didn't even go for the usual rip-off prices. We got pretty mashed.

Other one which surprised me - saw The Bangles live years ago. Always loved their songs, but wow, superb live, real musicians.

Never been to see them live, came close once though, about 7-8 years ago. True story- my ex-wife (se was ex at the time as well) was looking after the kids that night and just as I was about to enter the venue with the current Mrs Fandango I got a message that my youngest might have menengitis and was at A&E. Cue rush to hospital, total false alarm but night had been ruined but also huge relief. Mrs F no2 still reckons it was a deliberate scare to ruin her night...ex wives and current wives do not mix is the moral to that story

I think Lenny Kravitz was my first "big" concert I've ever been to. It was in 1994 or 1995 in Innsbruck (Austria) and a then still unknown Skunk Anansie were the opening act. Great gig all around and an memorable night (even thought I hardly remember anything). Skunk Anansie broke big just a few weeks or months later. But that night everybody was shocked at the "dude" that was singing. Nobody believed she was a gal.

Problem with INXS was that they were always labeled as the best Australian rockband by the mainstream media.
I never saw INXS as a rockband btw, more as a popband. Some nice tunes but not really exciting.
Hutchence's appearance was more important than the music imo.
