Essentially, make a 10 track "best of" for your personal favorites from anything prior to LTBR. Good way to discuss some of their earlier tracks that may be half loved and half hated or something like that. There's something so special about this era - it's full of pure rock 'n' roll, not the rnr based stuff like we saw on FOTS for example, it's careless, it's fun, and goddamn DDDDC is underrated on here; it ain't perfect, but the cheap motel vibe it gives off is unmatched

    Mine:
    1. It's a Long Way to the Top (If You Wanna Rock 'n' Roll)
    2. Problem Child - one of my personal favorites from when I was just discovering them. Thank you, Peter!
    3. Squealer
    4. Rock n Roll Singer
    5. High Voltage
    6. Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap
    7. Live Wire
    8. Soul Stripper
    9. She's Got Balls
    10. Jailbreak
  2.
    1. Live Wire
    2. Ain't No Fun
    3. You Ain't Got a Hold on Me
    4. Soul Stripper
    5. Rock n Roll Singer
    6. TNT
    7. Little Lover
    8. Ride On
    9. Jailbreak
    10. Rocker

This was harder than I thought it would be. I don't listen to these albums very much anymore. DDDDC has never been a big player for me, even though Ride On and Ain't No Fun are two of my all time Bon faves.

You Ain't Got A Hold On Me
    She's Got Balls

I think that 75-76 were fabulous and strong years for AC/DC with some of their best known classic hits coming from those years. The music was great back then and it was raw and real, the rest of the world just hadn’t discovered them yet. I think the Dirty Deeds and TNT albums were superb Hard Rock bluesy albums and amongst their better albums. And without doubt 1975-82 were their best years. Now for my top 10 for 75-76 :-)
    1. It’s A Long Way To The Top
    2. Ride On
    3. TNT
    4. Jailbreak
    5. Dirty Deeds
    6. Live Wire
    7. High Voltage
    8. Problem Child
    9. Squealer
    10. Rock n Roll Singer

Not necessarily half and half, but many don't regard those albums as nearly as consistent and the following 4, if not 6. As I said, they're definitely a great representation of their rock n roll influences, but the songwriting hadn't quite reached its peak yet IMO.

    Well, the facts think different.
How many long lived live classics can you find on T.N.T and DDDC?
    6
And how many long lived live classics can you find on FTATR and FOTS?
    1

I believe that proves AC/DC's songwriting was more than well devoloped in 75-76...
If some people like the later album's better, well - that's just a matter of personal taste. Nothing else.

I'm with SODA on this one. 1975-76 were great years for AC/DC and the songwriting in my opinion was fine, they just hadn't been discovered globally at that time but that doesn't mean they weren't already a great band. Many of their classic hits and fan favourites came from the albums of this time. TNT, Jailbreak, Dirty Deeds, It's A Long Way To The Top, High Voltage, Can I sit Next To you Girl, Live Wire, Ride On. Great years that produced great music for the band. Along with 1977 - 81, 75-76 was certainly part of their golden era and history has proven that, even their live shows still feature many songs from that period.
