Fuck, wish i was going with you guys. If it was next year id defs be in. BTW if there does end up being a trip next year if AC/DC play at any festivals or anything, count me in!
lol...you got me all wrong Powerage. I was thinking of the Brandenburg Gate, Potsdamer Platz,Museumsinsel, the Reichstag...and the brothels possibly (for study about unification since the wall came down)
Seriously, lads - let's keep this one on topic, then we can all know what's planned for the trip without having to read pages and pages of Carlos' fantasies...
Right back on track here is the roll call so far:- Ulster plus Will and Dave Pod Jem Carlos Jet probables - bonlives possibles- Ianbigmac plus 2 and did I see on a previous thread boothjorden was going to make it?
That's a decent roll call if that's what we're thinking.
What are your thoughts on where to meet/drink? Would people like just us lot to meet at some random Berlin bar, or do you want to be part of something that the German fans were planning?
What times are you all arriving?
And nearer the time, we should make sure we've all got contact details for everyone
I'd like to be involved with the German fans (no sniggering at the back) they are going to know what the score is...presumably there must be a bar or two that will be setting something up for the gig...?
I think we should send out an emissary to the ze german fans on the official forum and make contact about meeting up somewhere before and after the gig. Maybe meet at noon or a time near that. I had a whole "don't mention the war" spiel ready to go but I shall refrain from that for the purpose of keeping this thread on track. Ulster you are the man to make contact with the enemy...shit...I mean fellow fans on the official site and see what they have to say
Just had a quick look at the site where Ulster's posted his request. It seems there is a pre show party the night before. They haven't decided on the venue yet but it will probably be 300 capacity and cost will be 10 euros. I would suggest those of us going over the night before go to it and we can then get the lowdown of where people are going to be on the day before and after the gig. What do you all think about this? Ulster, I suggest you get in touch with the guy organising it, Raff I think he is called. Heres the link...if it works

Dear Forum Member
Re: Berlin Tour T-Shirts.
Ive been speaking to Ulster and Carlos regards an AC/DCfans.net tour t-shirt for the trip. Now whilst Powerages "F-Em All" motiff was a master stroke of huge comic proportions, I think its fair to say that the moment has passed on that one. So we've been looking at alternatives, and after some deliberation we were thinking about one of these
Fitting given the 30th anniversary of his passing and that the band themselves salute the man in the current setlist during HV.
On the reverse we were going to put our forum names, AC/DCfans.net on tour, Berlin, 22.06.10. The t-shirts are £13.99 each with free postage for over 4 shirts. The "F-Em All" shirt worked out at about £25 plus postage so we have £12+ to play with for the lettering so I think it may work out cheaper this way.
I am prepared to order and pay for the shirts up front and I can sort out printing, unless someone knows someone on that score, and you guys can reimburse me at a later date.
So what I need to know is who is definitely coming and are you up for the t-shirt, and I need to know sooner rather than later as I dont know how long this process will take.
So please let me know via this thread, and when having a look at the link please select a size. Anyone not giving me a size gets a Pod XXL special.
The mal one is cool, there is also a Mr Johnson one and a Livewire Bon one. But I think the feel was that we wanted to nod our heads to Bon re the 30th ann. It just seemed the right one to go for. Simple pic with the years of his birth and his passing on. It,ll make shit loads of sense when they play HV with that video and I reckon its the one above all the others that will win us the most koudos with the other fans.
I think the tees are all good options, but I'm siding with the Bon one at the minute - simple, respectful and looks smart. As for backprint, I like...

I'm in, and I think we should set a deadline of the end of the week on this, just to make sure we don't fuck around for weeks on end trying to reach agreement....
Pod - I take t-shirt size large.
Also, well done for organising this, appreciate it....
Yep i have to agree with you boys. After a while as soon as the mood passed I thought the shirt was a lil disrespectful. Was planning on removing it but didn't get around to it. I'm much happier that your getting a Bon shirt. Smart, casual and respectful. Plus it wont offend anyone there.
Also i didn't like the idea of how much you guys would have had to pay. I tried to keep it as low as I could.
it needs to be said though, Powerage - thank you very much for all your efforts with your shirt design. It was very good of you to get it all sorted for us and we're glad you understand our reasons
Come on Ulster has owned up that he is a big boy, but he has a mate that is bigger than him. What size are you guys? Jem, IanBigMac (and family), Jet, Carlos (ladies petite I imagine), BonLives. Have I missed anyone?
ok, I've contacted this Raff guy - their event is planned for the 21st (the day before the gig), and as far as he knows, there's nothing planned for the day of the gig itself. He says we're all welcome on the 21st, but that's no good to any of us I don't think.
So...
I think we need to be thinking of identifying somewhere for the pre-show meet-up. "After the show" should look after itself when we meet with people through the day, but we need to pick somewhere where we can meet on the 22nd.....
A beer keller sounds good to me. Anyone with more uptodate knowledge than me on Berlin bars? I remember one that was called the ship or something. I got invited to go "Turk bashing" there as I recall. I get in at 9am ish so meeting at hotel or possibly a cafe may be better. Save the beer till 10.30 eh.
Jem-thoughts on our recent conversation regards travel.
By cack you mean oompah music, leider hosen and fat german sausage chompers. Actually I like the sound of that now I mention it.
Obviously we need to ingratiate ourselves with the local fans if we wanna have a knees up after. So perhaps the day should be about trawling the bars looking for them.
Large for me as well. I thought some of us were getting there the day before (well I am). If thats the case we can still go to the event this Raff guy has planned and get the lowdown from other DC fans about where to hang out on the day of the gig?
I'm looking to travel with Pod on the day of the event (which I've not arranged yet Poddie) and then bug out once the hangover has diminished, so I'm looking to have as much fun on the day and night of gig as possible. Ideally we'd get taken under the wing of the German fans, and end up in a rock bar/club, singing and drinking the night away.
Now as for the shirts Ive got 1 XXL (me), XL (Ulsters mate), and 4 L (Ulster +1, Jem, Carlos) so far. Anyone else. BonLives? Ian did you get on here and look? Anyone seen Jet? (check the std clinic).
Surely some other of you guys will be making it. Come on. Booth you hinted.
you know you guys, theres a special paper you can buy where you just print out your design and iron it onto a t-shirt. ive made many shirts with it, and its pretty cheap, so if y'all could just come up with a design everyone could make their own.
Re TShirt-That sounds good to me. I'm getting in to Berlin about 5ish. So I might try and find the party venue. Now after me ( in a strong Teutonic accent) " AC und DC!!! AC Und DC!! AC und DC!! AC und DC!!
I think we won't be in to the city until gone 11pm, so we'll not bother with the party on the 21st.
Pod - why don't you make your way to the hotel we're staying at on the morning of the 22nd, and we can use that as our meeting point, at least for us lot anyway?
Having just got off the phone from Carlos, he has told me he thought Large was a 42" chest size. It isnt, its 38-40 for this one which may be a tad skimpy for his buff physique and Jems heart. Here are the sizes below just to make sure we all get the right one. In inches
Small 34-36 Medium 36-38 Large 38-40 XLarge 40-42 XXPod 44-48
I figure it was only Carlos that didnt bother checking, but just in case please reconfirm the size you want. It says 40-42 on a different shirt on this site, but lets assume the smaller measurements quoted for this particular one are correct. Ta
When we met up in 2003 at Heidelberg, he said "I'll be wearing a red t-shirt and black shorts" neglecting to mention the fact that he is SIX FOOT EIGHT! I'm guessing XXL?
Just spoke to a German mate whose going to meet up with us in Berlin with a couple of his mates. He reckons he knows a good rock bar where we can all meet on the 22nd, but he can't remember the name. He's asking his mate who lives in Berlin and he'll let me know. So that sounds like a plan....
Definitely sounds like a good plan. Its a good job you are so continental Ulster, if it was left up to some of the bods on here we'd be landing in Germany via low altitude parachute drop in full bloody combat gear. Yes you Carlos, you know what I mean.
Any way, are you able to contact Jet re the shirts at all Ulster?
